Peggy Valcke

Peggy Valcke is an accomplished legal scholar and executive with extensive experience in various high-level positions. Currently serving as an Executive Board Member at BIPT - IBPT since January 2024, Peggy manages the Legal Department, HR, and Network Security. At KU Leuven, Peggy has held several academic roles since 2004, advancing from part-time professor to Full Professor in Law and Vice Dean of Research, focusing on media, communications, and ICT law, as well as AI ethics. As a Principal Investigator at imec, involvement in security and privacy research has been ongoing since 2004, alongside academic supervision at the Leuven Law Incubator, IusStart. Additionally, Peggy serves on the Scientific Committee of the Centre for Media Pluralism & Media Freedom and has been involved with multiple editorial boards and academic institutions throughout a remarkable career, including a significant tenure at the Vlaamse Regulator voor de Media - VRM prior to December 2023. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Law from KU Leuven and a Postgraduate Diploma in EC Competition Law from King's College London.
