Jamie van'tSlot, GSC, C.Tech has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. They started their career in 2009 at Ontario Power Generation as an Electrical & Control Technologist. In 2010, they worked at MDS Aero Support Corporation as an Electrical Designer and at GAL Power Systems as a Project Manager, Engineering. From 2015 to 2018, they held roles at EllisDon as a Project Manager and Superintendent, M&E. After that, they worked at BGIS as a Senior Project Manager, Major Capital Projects, where they were assigned to the National Printing Bureau Rehabilitation Project. In 2021, Jamie became the owner of JVS Power Solutions and later joined Bird Construction as a Senior Project Manager in 2023.

Jamie van'tSlot, GSC, C.Tech. began their education at Arnprior District High School from 2003 to 2007. Following that, they attended Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering Technician with a focus on Electrical Engineering Technologies/Technicians.

In terms of additional certifications, Jamie van'tSlot obtained a Certified Electrical Technician certification from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) in July 2017.

They also have several construction-related certifications. In May 2019, they acquired a Construction Industry Ethics certificate from BuildForce Canada / ConstruForce Canada, followed by a Communication, Negotiation, and Conflict Resolution Certificate from the same institution in March 2019. In September 2018, they obtained a Construction Law certification from BuildForce Canada / ConstruForce Canada. Additionally, in June 2020, they obtained a Construction Industry Ethics certification from the Winnipeg Construction Association.

Jamie van'tSlot has further enhanced their skills by completing various programs offered by Harvard Business Publishing Corporate Learning. In January 2020, they obtained a Harvard Manage Mentor - Negotiating certificate. In October 2019, they acquired a Harvard Manage Mentor - Decision Making certificate, and in September 2019, they completed the Harvard Manage Mentor Program - Leading People.

They have also completed other professional development programs, including a Construction Project Management certification from BuildForce Canada / ConstruForce Canada in November 2019 and an Introduction to Project Management certificate from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology in April 2015.

Furthermore, they have received a Gold Seal Certified - Electrical Project Manager certification from the Canadian Construction Association - Association canadienne de la construction in October 2020 and an Electrical Generating Systems Association Certificate Program from the Electrical Generating Systems Association in November 2014.
