Edel Hartog

Edel Hartog is a legal professional with extensive experience in commercial law and regulation. Currently serving as Deputy General Counsel & Head of Commercial Legal at Bird since December 2021, Edel leads the global Commercial legal team for the company, recognized in the Forbes Cloud 100 SaaS and Y Combinator Top Companies by Revenue. Prior to this role, Edel was a partner at Mason Hayes & Curran LLP, specializing in telecoms, technology, and commercial contracts, and also held a senior associate position at McCann FitzGerald, focusing on corporate and commercial law. In addition to practical legal experience, Edel has contributed to legal education as a lecturer, tutor, examiner, and author with the Law Society of Ireland from 2011 to 2023, teaching various legal disciplines. Edel holds an LLM in Commercial Law from University College Dublin and a Bachelor's Degree in Law from University College Cork.
