President And CEO at Bird Technologies

Amr Abdelmonem has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Amr started their career as an Associate Professor at Ain Shams University in 1994. Amr then worked at Illinois Super conductor Corporation as the Vice President of Engineering and Operations, where they led the engineering department and managed cross-functional teams. In 2000, they became the Executive Vice President of Illinois Superconductor Corp., overseeing multi-site operations and managing a budget of $25 million. From 2002 to 2004, they were the CEO of Illinois Superconductor Corp., where they achieved 200% revenue growth. In 2005, they joined ISCO International as the President and later took on the roles of COO and CTO. During their time at ISCO International, they introduced new C-RAN concepts and created a new market segment, increasing revenue by more than 35%. Most recently, they have become the President and CEO of Bird Technologies in 2023.

Amr Abdelmonem has an impressive education history. Amr obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Ain Shams University in 1987. After that, they pursued further studies and received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the University of Maryland between 1989 and 1993. To further enhance their knowledge in the field of business, Amr attended The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2001 to 2003, where they earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in Business/Commerce, General.
