Agnus Mala has a diverse work experience. Agnus started their career as a Sales Consultant at Farmers Trading Company Ltd in 2012. After a year and a half, they transitioned to become a Drama Teacher at Whanganui High School in 2013. Agnus taught drama there for three years before moving on to become a House Dean at Featherstone High School in 2017. Agnus held this position for a year and then joined Cambridge High School as the Head of Drama in 2018. Agnus remained in this role for three years before joining Birkenhead College as the Head of Drama in 2022.
Agnus Mala's education history includes completing a Postgraduate Diploma of Teaching in Secondary Education and Teaching at The University of Waikato from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2011, Agnus pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Studies and Screen & Media Studies at The University of Waikato.
