Alvin Ruan

President of Sophon AI product line at Bitmain

Alvin Ruan has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Alvin began their career as a Software Development Manager at ZTE Corporation, where they managed a software team and worked on the development of TCP/IP protocols. Alvin then moved on to Conexant as a Senior Field Application Engineer, where they provided technical support for broadband xDSL Bridge Modem and HomeGateway products.

Ruan later joined ADVA as a Project Leader, before transitioning to Broadcom as a Senior Program Manager. In this role, they promoted StrataXGS switch chips and successfully secured deals with Tier1 and Tier2 customers in China, driving revenue growth. Alvin then moved to Qualcomm as a Senior Product Manager, where they managed high port switch SoC Roadmap and successfully grew revenue.

After their time at Qualcomm, Ruan joined Broadcom Inc. as a Product Line Manager. Alvin was responsible for managing the ARM SoC product line, conducting market trend and competitive analysis, defining product specifications, and developing GTM strategies. Ruan also worked at Bitmain as the President of the Sophon AI product line, overseeing the roadmap, chip spec definition, R&D management, and product promotion for cloud and edge computing AI chips.

Throughout their career, Ruan has demonstrated a strong track record in product management, revenue growth, and customer acquisition in the technology industry.

Alvin Ruan obtained their Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Chengdu University of Technology, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Alvin continued their education at the same institution and received a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, completing their studies from 1998 to 2001.
