Sean Brown, P.E. has extensive work experience in the engineering field. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Manager on Duty at Foothills Park & Recreation District, where they supervised employees, handled customer service issues, and troubleshooted pump room problems until 2013. In 2013, they interned as an Engineering Intern at Kiewit, where they supervised mechanics, ensured proper maintenance, and documented work orders. From 2014 to 2015, Sean worked as an Equipment Engineer at Kiewit, monitoring equipment utilization, estimating costs for component replacements, and communicating with vendors. In 2015, they joined Western Engineering & Research Corporation as a Staff Mechanical Engineer. Sean then joined EN Engineering in 2016, initially as a Design Engineer, and later as a Senior Design Engineer and Project Engineer. During this time, they designed pipelines, coordinated with subcontractors and project teams, and developed design drawings. In 2019, Sean transitioned to Black Hills Energy as a Sr. Gas Engineer, responsible for gas engineering. Sean went on to work at Xcel Energy in 2022 as a Sr. Gas Pipeline Engineer, before returning to Black Hills Energy later that year as a Lead Engineer.
Sean Brown, P.E. holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Sean obtained their Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies in October 2021. Additionally, they hold PE certifications from the states of Kansas and Wyoming, which were obtained in July 2019.
