John de Vries

John de Vries has over 30 years of experience in the resources industry. John'smost recent role was as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Black Rock Mining Ltd, an Australian graphite developer. Prior to that, they were on sabbatical after serving as the General Manager of Technical Services at St Barbara Limited, a mid-tier Australian gold producer and explorer. John also held positions at BHP Billiton as the Manager of Strategic Mine Planning, Orica Mining Services as the Global Business Manager of Advanced Mining Services, and AMC Consulting as a Principal Mining Engineer. Additionally, de Vries worked at WMC Resources in various roles, including Project Manager, Senior Mining Engineer, and Senior Financial Analyst. John also served as the Mining Manager at WMC Windarra and held multiple positions at WMC Fiji Ltd, including Senior Mining Engineer, Underground Manager, and Shaft Engineer.

John de Vries has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining from Federation University Australia, which they received between 1979 and 1983. John then pursued a First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency from the West Australian Department of Mines in 1988. In 1991, they enrolled at Macquarie University and obtained a Graduate Diploma in Economic Geology, followed by a Master's degree in Mineral and Energy Economics, which they completed in 1995. Finally, in 2001 to 2004, John attended FINSIA and obtained a Graduate Diploma in Financial Markets.
