Paul Hirst

Paul Hirst is an accomplished security researcher with extensive experience in software security and malware analysis. Currently serving as Principal Security Researcher at Cybellum since November 2022, Paul previously held the position of Senior Security Researcher at BlackBerry from July 2015, where responsibilities included software security assessments, vulnerability scoring using CVSS, and research on security features within memory allocators, as well as the development of the BlackBerry Jarvis® binary static analysis tool. Prior to BlackBerry, Paul spent 15 years at Sophos PLC, initially as a Virus Researcher focused on analyzing malware threats and enhancing antivirus detection capabilities. Paul holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Southampton, earned between 1997 and 2000.
