Jason Wright

Jason Wright has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jason is currently working as a Visiting Professor at Idaho State University since August 2022. Prior to this, they were an Adjunct Professor at the same institution from January 2022 to August 2022.

Before joining the academia, Jason worked as the Chief of Cyber Research at Blackmere Talent Acquisition, LLC starting from January 2021.

Between the years 2014 and 2022, Jason held the position of Principal at Thought Networks LLC.

From 2006 to 2016, they worked as a Cyber Security Research Engineer at Idaho National Laboratory.

Jason has previous experience as a Senior Developer at OpenBSD Project from 1998 to 2007. During their time there, they were responsible for creating an IP filtering Ethernet bridge.

Prior to that, from 2003 to 2006, Jason worked as a Software Engineer at NFR Security, Inc., where they wrote zero-copy packet capture kernel code and added support for various hardware devices.

Before entering the field of cyber security, Jason held the position of Systems Programmer at University of Pennsylvania, Distributed Systems Lab from 2001 to 2003. Jason developed device drivers for hardware cryptography accelerators and ensured their compatibility on different architectures.

From 1999 to 2001, Jason worked as a Software Engineer at Network Security Technologies (NETSEC), where they wrote hardware drivers, maintained branched source trees, and merged patches and fixes.

Jason started their career as a Student Intern at University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 1997 to 1999.

Their earliest work experience was as a Systems Engineer at Vnet Internet Access, Inc from 1994 to 1997, where they managed UNIX based email services and wrote utilities for system accounting and load balancing.

Jason Wright completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Jason attended the university from 1991 to 1999. After that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Idaho. Jason completed their master's program from 2008 to 2011.
