Sylvia Blackmon-Roberts is President and CEO of Blackmon Roberts Group, Inc. Her analytical skills and business savvy grew BRG from a one-woman consultancy, to one of the fastest growing minority-owned management consulting firms in the state of Florida.

Sylvia is well known for her expertise and knowledge in business development, policy development, management, marketing and communications. Sylvia has extensive experience working in the transportation industry as a consultant and sub-consultant. She has been asked to facilitate public input forums, as well as, administer state and national procurement and business development programs on behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation, US Department of Transportation, Florida Department of Health, US Housing and Urban Development, as well as, numerous local public and private entities. Additional experience includes serving as an expert panelist to the National Transportation Research Board in Washington, D.C.

She is actively involved with transportation organizations such as the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), Southeastern Associations of Highway and Transportation Officials (SASHTO, Southern Civil Right Symposium, and the Conference Of Minority Transportation Officials COMTO).

Sylvia is a graduate of Florida Southern College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with a minor in Psychology, holds certification as a Diversity Trainer from George Washington University and a Behavioral Science Certificate from Auburn University. She has completed coursework towards a Masters in Public Administration at the University of South Florida. She is a graduate of

Leadership Lakeland Class 11.

A civic minded individual, Sylvia held appointments from Governor Jed Bush and Governor Charlie Crist. She holds memberships and sits on numerous Boards and Committees: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; Board of Trustees for Polk Museum of Arts, Chairman of the City of Lakeland Civil Service Board, Board Member Polk Education Foundation, Harrison School for the Arts SAC, United Way of Central Florida, Past member of the Jenkins Family (Publix) Grant Committee and Florida Southern College President’s Council; She is a school volunteer and mentor with Take Stock In Children.
