Experienced 3D Artist
Location: Glasgow Office Based/Hybrid
Role Type: 1-year fixed term, Mid to Senior Level
As a 3D Artist, you’ll play a key role in creating stunning environments and props that define the visual identity of our games. From crafting realistic urban landscapes to stylised, fantastical realms, you’ll use your expertise in modelling, texturing, and optimization to deliver assets that are both beautiful and performant. This is a mid-to-senior-level position, ideal for someone who has shipped console games and is ready to take ownership of high-quality 3D art production.
Responsibilities
Create high-quality 3D models for environments and props, adhering to the artistic direction of the project.
Work with designers, technical artists, and programmers to ensure assets integrate seamlessly into the game.
Optimize 3D assets for performance across console platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch systems.
Develop both realistic and stylised 3D art, depending on the needs of the project.
Collaborate with the art team to establish and maintain a cohesive visual style across all assets.
Ensure models and textures meet industry standards for quality and efficiency.
Provide mentorship to junior artists and contribute to the overall growth of the team.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a 3D Artist in the games industry, with at least one shipped title on console platforms (PS, Xbox, Switch).
Strong portfolio showcasing environment and prop modelling in both realistic and stylised styles.
Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Maya, Blender, ZBrush, and Substance Suite.
Experience working with the Unity game engine and implementing assets into game environments.
Solid understanding of optimization techniques for console development.
Strong knowledge of PBR workflows, UV mapping, and texturing.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Nice-to-Have
Additional experience in other areas of art such as character modelling, VFX, 2D or animation.
Experience with Unreal Engine.
Knowledge of shader creation and material workflows.
Familiarity with photogrammetry or procedural modelling techniques.
Experience with lighting and rendering for real-time environments.
