Kyle Schmidt has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Kyle currently works as a Mechanical Engineer at Blentech Corporation since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Zodiac Aerospace as a Design Engineer from 2017 to 2021.
Kyle also has experience at Altwork, where they worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Software Lead, and Manufacturing Engineer from 2015 to 2017. In this role, they developed Solidwork drawing templates, designed components of the Altwork Station, managed 3D rapid prototype printing, and developed software for operating the Altwork Station.
Kyle has also worked as an Engineering Instructor at Play-Well TEKnologies, teaching engineering concepts to children using Lego, and as a Manufacturing Engineer at Loring Smart Roast, where they supported manufacturing, developed product documentation, and worked on the design of roasting equipment.
In addition, Kyle has interned at L-3 Communications WESCAM Sonoma as a Mechanical Engineer, where they designed tools for manufacturing stabilized camera systems and participated in Kaizen activities.
Kyle also served as a Resident Advisor at Stenner Glen. Kyle has a background in webmastering through their involvement with the ASME Student Section at SJSU.
Kyle Schmidt completed their education as follows:
- From 2011 to 2014, they attended San Jose State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Prior to that, from 2009 to 2011, they attended Cuesta College, where they pursued Mechanical Engineering without obtaining a degree.
- Kyle completed their high school education at Cloverdale High School from 2005 to 2009, earning a degree in General Studies.

- In May 2019, they completed the "Critical Concepts of Tolerance Stack 2009" certification from SAE International.
- In April 2019, they completed the "Design for Manufacture and Assembly" certification from SAE International.
- In April 2019, they completed the "Fundamentals of GD&T 2009" certification from SAE International.
- In June 2014, they obtained a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from the Industrial & System Engineering Department at San Jose State University.
- In August 2011, they completed the "Lean Training & Transformation" certification from Wescam Sonoma Operations.
