Prior to their current roles, Mihai-Daniel worked at Cegeka Romania as the Director of International Projects. There, they assembled and managed agile nearshore development teams and implemented Agile practices for software delivery.

Mihai-Daniel Popa completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the Faculty of Business Administration in foreign languages (FABIZ-ASE) between 1998 and 2002. In 2004 to 2005, they pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management, General at Academia de Studii Economice din București. Additionally, they specialized in Foreign Trade from the University of International Business and Economics between 2000 and 2002. Mihai-Daniel Popa also studied Chinese Language at Beijing Language and Culture University from 1999 to 2000. Continuing their education, they participated in Executive Education at Maastricht School of Management from 2018 to 2019, focusing on Business. Apart from their formal education, Mihai-Daniel Popa obtained a Technology Entrepreneurship edX Certificate from Harvard University in February 2021.
