Wouter van der Gronden's work experience includes roles at various companies in different industries. Wouter started their career as a Graduation Intern at Shell in 2012. Wouter then worked at Ampelmann Operations, where they served as a Project Manager in the Asia-Pacific region and later as a Product Manager in Offshore Wind. In 2018, they joined NewMotion as a Team Lead, responsible for hardware integration and later creating the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) product team. Under their leadership, NewMotion became the first charge point operator licensed by TenneT to deliver grid balancing ancillary services. Currently, they hold the role of Hardware Director Europe at Blink Charging.

Wouter van der Gronden obtained a BSc and MSc degree in Physics from Delft University of Technology between 2005 and 2013. Wouter also participated in an ERASMUS semester at ETH Zürich in 2012, focusing on the Physics of Nuclear Energy Systems. Additionally, they completed a Product Strategy program at Kellogg Executive Education. Prior to their university studies, Wouter received a Certificate in Advanced English from the University of Cambridge in 2002. Wouter also holds certifications in ISO-15118 Plug&Charge - Advanced Training from Switch and as a Finisher from La Patrouille des Glaciers.
