Mark Chapman has over 20 years of experience in the engineering and aerospace industry. Mark currently works as Special Projects Lead for Active Building Centre, where they create an eco-system to incubate and accelerate renewables and sustainable infrastructure sectors. Previously, they worked as Engineering Director for Bloodhound LSR, responsible for all technical aspects of the car design, and Technical Director and Chief Engineer for the BLOODHOUND SSC project, where they were responsible for the overall design, build, testing, and running of the car. Chapman has also worked for Assystem, Farnborough Aircraft Company Ltd, INBIS/Ricardo Aerospace, Boeing, Ricardo Aerospace, Radan, and Weir Strachan & Henshaw in various design and engineering roles, managing teams and work packages, and preparing and presenting bids and tenders.
Mark Chapman attended Westminster School from 1981 to 1986, where they earned A-levels in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Electronics. Mark then enrolled at the University of Bath in 1987 and completed their Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1992.
