Kent McKernan has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Kent currently works as a Principal Mechanical Engineer at Bloom Energy starting in 2022. Previous to that, they served as a Principal Mechanical Engineer at udelv from 2021 to 2022, where they led a team and developed interdisciplinary resource plans. Kent also worked as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at the same company, where they designed structures, conducted product benchmark reports, and completed detailed analysis of structural components. Prior to udelv, Kent was a Staff Mechanical Engineer at Lumentum from 2018 to 2021, where they led the mechanical aspects of a high-power laser product. Kent was also a Mechanical Design Engineer at KLA-Tencor from 2012 to 2018, working on precision mechanical design projects and ensuring operator safety requirements. Additionally, they gained experience as a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op at Gordon Biersch Brewing Company, an Electro Mechanical Assembly Assistant at Inxitu inc., and a Student Engineer at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
Kent McKernan obtained their High School Diploma from Archbishop Mitty High School in the year 2005. Kent then pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA, completing it in the year 2010. Subsequently, they attended Santa Clara University, where they achieved a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, concluding their studies in 2012.
