Tamar Enoch has a long and varied work experience. Tamar began their career in 1992 as an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, leading a research team of 10 graduate students and fellows. From 2002 to 2003, they served as Executive Director of the Cambridge Zen Center, where they were responsible for day-to-day operations and improved financial planning. In 2003, they became a Speech Language Specialist, providing family-centered speech and language services to clients aged 18 months- 22 years with developmental delays including autism in hospitals, schools and via home-based therapy. From 2014 to 2017, they served as Office Manager and Full Charge Bookkeeper at the Berkeley Zen Center, where they managed payroll, membership mailings and financial tasks. From 2017 to present, they have held various roles, including Bookkeeper at the First Unitarian Church of Oakland, Bookkeeping Consultant at PHATT CHANCE COMMUNITY SERVICES INC, and Accounting Manager at Blue Banyan Solutions, Inc. In each role, they have managed daily human resources and financial tasks, developed financial and HR procedures, tracked and reported expenses, developed budgets, and educated managers and board members on best bookkeeping practices.
Tamar Enoch's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Harvard University between 1981 and 1988, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Communication Sciences and Disorders, General from Emerson College between 1999 and 2001, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Reed College between 1976 and 1980.
