Ruth Greene

Ruth Greene’s approach to financial management is both human-centered and forward thinking. While overseeing the finance departments including underwriting, actuarial, and treasury, as well as Blue Cross’ enrollment services operations, she provides on-going strategic and operational financial leadership.

Ms. Greene joined Blue Cross in 2012 after a 26-year career at the Unum Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. While at Unum, Ms. Greene was responsible for establishing and unveiling both short-term and long-term financial management strategies for global technology shared services that focused on transparency and quality. Ms. Greene held a number of positions at Unum, both at its corporate headquarters in Maine and its locations abroad.

An avid horseback rider, Ms. Greene grew up in Vermont and to this day cherishes the grounded, grassroots communities here in her home state. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Vermont with a degree in Business Administration. She also earned the certified public accountant designation from Maine.
