Fred Setra

Fred Setra has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Fred currently works as an Engineering Manager at Blue Orange Digital, leading a team in delivering data engineering solutions for Insight Partners. Fred provides technical leadership, collaborates with stakeholders, and mentors team members. Prior to this role, Fred was a Senior Data Engineer at Two Sigma, where they designed and implemented data pipelines, performed data assessments, and streamlined the data extraction process.

Before joining Blue Orange Digital, Fred worked at Wipro Limited. As a Data Engineer and Python Developer, they contributed to a project for Roche Pharmaceuticals, developing custom webscrapers and configuring the Airflow server for efficient data ingestion. Fred also served as a Senior JDE Tech Lead, leading a legacy data migration project for Cargill and ensuring smooth migration by gathering requirements and developing solutions.

Fred's earlier career at Avon involved working as a Sr System Analyst - Application Architecture, where they coordinated an upgrade project. And at Wipro, they served as a System Analyst, providing support and training for various projects at Cargill and working as a Functional and Technical Analyst for the Electrolux Project. Throughout their career, Fred has demonstrated expertise in data engineering, project management, and technical analysis.

Fred Setra obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from FIAP between 2018 and 2021. Fred then went on to pursue a Postgraduate Degree in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul from 2023 to 2024. Additionally, Fred has obtained various certifications, including SQL (Advanced) and SQL (Intermediate) from HackerRank in August 2022, Astronomer Certification DAG Authoring for Apache Airflow and Astronomer Certification for Apache Airflow Fundamentals from Astronomer in February 2022, BIG DATA ECOSYSTEM from FIAP in March 2020, and dbt Fundamentals from dbt Labs in February 2022.
