Chris Padwick

Director of Computer Vision Machine Learning at Blue River Technology

Chris Padwick is a seasoned professional in the field of computer vision and machine learning, currently serving as the Director of Computer Vision Machine Learning and Technical Fellow at Blue River Technology since January 2016. In this role, Chris leads a deep learning team focused on creating data pipelines and models that effectively differentiate crops from weeds, enabling significant reductions in herbicide usage for farmers. Previously, Chris held the position of Technical Fellow at DigitalGlobe from April 2014 to January 2016, where the primary focus was on developing large-scale, color-balanced ortho mosaics. Chris also served as a Senior Software Engineer at ITT Visual Information Solutions, leading R&D efforts for the Spatial Feature Extraction module for ENVI, and worked as a Senior Software Engineer at DigitalGlobe, Inc. Chris holds a Master of Science in Physics from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Regina.
