Bill Hilliard

Bill Hilliard has extensive experience in the renewable energy and finance industries. Bill has held various roles throughout their career, including Chief Development Officer (CDO) and Investor at Blue Sky Utility - Powered by Nofar Energy, where they originated and managed strategic relationships with real estate firms and project finance vendors. Bill also designed and launched a battery storage investment program and evaluated investment opportunities in EV fleet and vehicle charging, among other areas.

Prior to their time at Blue Sky Utility, Bill worked as an Operating Partner and Investor at Generate Capital Inc, where they sourced, structured, and executed venture and infrastructure investments. Bill originated and managed strategic relationships with Fortune 500 firms and technology vendors and had expertise in various energy markets.

Bill also served as a Board Observer at Joule Assets and played a key role in leading a convertible note investment with the company. Additionally, they founded and served as CEO of EcoVolt Electric Company, where they implemented a new investment structure for solar financing and raised project finance capital.

Earlier in their career, Bill held positions such as Managing Director/Chief Investment Officer at CleanREIT Partners and Residential Growth Partners Mortgage REIT. Bill was involved in developing innovative home mortgage financing products and raising seed capital for the launch of a mortgage REIT.

Before entering the renewable energy industry, Bill had experience in the technology sector. Bill founded and managed E-Color, a software and cloud computing company with a large user base. Bill also held roles at MicroTouch Systems and Phoenix Technologies, where they led product management and developed sales channels.

Bill Hilliard has a comprehensive education history. Bill earned a BA in Mathematical Economics from Pomona College. Afterwards, they attended the Wharton School as a Visiting Scholar at the Sol C. Snider Entrepreneurial Research Center, where they focused on Finance, Real Estate, and Venture Fund Management. Bill also pursued further education as a Visiting Scholar at the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, with a specific focus on Private Equity, Real Estate, and Investment Management. Additionally, they obtained an SM Management (MBA) degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
