Karina Czapiewska

Co-founder, managing director and floating city developer at Blue21

Karina Czapiewska has a diverse range of work experience. Karina co-founded Blue21 and served as the managing director and floating city developer since 2015. Prior to Blue21, they were a founding partner and managing partner at DeltaSync from 2007 onwards, where they were involved in pioneering and developing new technologies and concepts for cities. Karina also worked as a project developer at DeltaSync from 2011 to 2015. From 2017 to 2020, Karina worked in urban planning and development at Blue Frontiers. Before that, they served as the Chair of PDB, an organization focused on promoting building on water, from 2011 to 2015. Additionally, they were involved in the Floating Life project from 2009 to 2011, which aimed to address climate adaptation and sustainable development on water. Karina also participated in various masterclasses and training programs at Yes!Delft, such as project management, financial management, investor readiness, and human resource management, from 2007 to 2009. In 2006, they participated in the Delta Competition at Royal Haskoning.

Karina Czapiewska pursued their education at the Delft University of Technology from 2000 to 2008. During this time, they obtained a Master of Science degree in the field of Area Development and corporate real estate. Prior to their university studies, from 1998 to 2000, Karina attended Aquino where they completed their VWO (pre-university education). No specific field of study is provided for this qualification.
