Simon Willcox is currently the Principal Engineer at Blue Bear Systems Research, where he has been working since May 2000. He is known for being the chief architect of various key projects such as the BBSR SNAP autopilot and the NEXUS ground control station. Prior to Blue Bear, Simon held the position of Principal Engineer at Symbian from 1998 to 2000 and R&D lead at Cyberlife from 1996 to 1998. Simon holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of York. His expertise lies in autonomous flight algorithms and the development of research into risk-reducing flight trials.
