Matias Roos has a diverse background in mechanical engineering and research. Matias is currently the Director of R&D and Engineering at Bluefors, where they are responsible for overseeing the research and development team. Prior to that, they worked at Rosendahl Nextrom GmbH as an Engineering Manager, leading and managing mechanical engineering operations. Matias also held roles as a Lead Engineer and Mechanical Engineer at Nextrom, where they worked on various projects including the industrialization of preform machines. Before that, Matias worked as an Entrepreneur at Custom Design & Engineering Finland, focusing on mechanical design for special applications. Matias also has experience as a Mechanical Engineer at Oxford Instruments Analytical Oy, working on XRF element analyzers and the BepiColombo SIXS instrument. Earlier in their career, they worked at Nokia Technology Platforms as a Micromechanic and at Nokia Research Center as a Research Assistant. Matias began their career at Planar Systems Inc. as a Production employee.
Matias Roos has a Master's Degree in Technology Administration from Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences, which they received between 2015 and 2018. Matias also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical and production engineering from Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia, obtained from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they completed vocational upper secondary education in Micromechanics at the Finnish School of Watchmaking from 1999 to 2002. Matias completed their matriculation examination at Tapiola Senior High School from 1996 to 1999.
