Martin Lespada has extensive work experience in finance and banking. Martin is currently the Chief Financial Officer at the Board of Child Care since November 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the COO and Advisor at Arena, providing fractional CFO services.
From 2021 to 2023, Martin was the Head of Banking - GM at Oportun, where they led the Neobanking strategy and played a key role in the $213M acquisition of Digit.co.
Martin also held various roles at WSFS Bank from 2019 to 2020, including SVP - Director of Retail Strategy - Divisional CFO, where they led digital transformation strategy for the Retail segment and formed strategic partnerships.
At Capital One, Martin worked from 2003 to 2019, serving as the Sr. Director of Business Strategy & Market Expansion and Sr. Director Small Business Banking - CFO. In these roles, they played a crucial part in strategic planning, financial performance evaluation, and go-to-market activities.
Martin started their career at Zona Financiera Inc as a Controller from 2000 to 2003, overseeing the accounting function and coordinating external audits. Martin also worked as a Sr. Consultant at KPMG - Argentina from 1997 to 2000 and as a Sr. Associate at Price Waterhouse - Argentina from 1992 to 1997, where they gained experience in financial and regulatory audits, valuation modeling, and due diligence for M&A deals.
Martin Lespada holds an MBA degree from The George Washington University School of Business. Martin also earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Buenos Aires. Additionally, they completed the altMBA program.
