Marina Matalon's work experience begins in 2016 when they attended a summer program at Georgetown University's Forensic Science Institute, where they learned about various forensic science techniques. In 2019, they studied ecology and studio art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland, focusing on snail behavior and gaining experience in field work, data analysis, and scientific writing.
In 2013, Marina worked as a veterinary technician at the Morristown Animal Hospital until 2016. Following this, in 2020, Marina interned at the Office of the Public Defender Maryland, where they worked on the post-conviction special litigation project, reviewing homicide trial transcripts and creating a case file database.
The next year, in 2021, Marina interned for the Maryland State Police's Forensic Sciences Division, working alongside the Quality Assurance Manager. Their responsibilities included organizing bias training, managing records of continuing education units, and assisting with the 2020 Annual Report.
Currently, Marina is employed at Bode Technology since 2022. Marina started as a Laboratory Assistant in January 2022 and later transitioned to the role of Forensic DNA Technologist in June 2023.
Marina Matalon began their education at Morristown High School from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Following that, they attended Loyola University Maryland from 2017 to 2020, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Forensic Studies. In 2019, Marina briefly studied at Freie Universität Berlin. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Forensic Science degree with a specialization in Forensic Molecular Biology at The George Washington University, from 2021 to 2023.
