Dr. med. vet. Juli Schlichtiger has extensive experience in the field of toxicology and drug safety. Dr. med. vet. Juli began their career as a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Pharmacy at Veterinary University of LMU, Munich in 2008. Dr. med. vet. Juli then moved on to become the Laboratory Head of preclinical research and Head of the Animal Facility at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Clinic Großhadern, LMU Munich in 2010.

In 2011, Dr. Schlichtiger joined Boehringer Ingelheim, where they held various roles of increasing responsibility. Dr. med. vet. Juli started as a Scientist Research and Development, serving as a Study Director. Dr. med. vet. Juli then became a Laboratory Head of Toxicology and Principal Scientist, before taking on the role of Team Leader Nonrodent Toxicology and Project Team Leader Toxicology. In their most recent position at Boehringer Ingelheim, they serve as the Senior Nonclinical Drug Safety Project Lead and TA Toxicology Lead CNS - Associate Director. In this role, they oversee projects from a nonclinical drug safety perspective, provides scientific and toxicologic leadership, and collaborates with key stakeholders globally.

Throughout their career, Dr. Schlichtiger has demonstrated expertise in toxicology and drug safety, as well as leadership and mentoring skills.

Dr. med. vet. Juli Schlichtiger completed their education in veterinary medicine at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from 2003 to 2008, where they obtained their Approbation or license to practice veterinary medicine. Dr. med. vet. Juli then pursued their doctoral degree and graduated as a doctor in veterinary medicine (Dr. med. vet.) from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from 2008 to 2010. From 2011 to 2015, they specialized in pharmacology and toxicology, earning the degree of Fachtierarzt für Pharmakologie und Toxikologie (Qualified Veterinarian for Pharmacology and Toxicology) from Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH & Co KG. Dr. med. vet. Juli also holds additional certifications, including Fachtierarzt Versuchstierkunde (Diplomate Laboratory Animals) from Landesärztekammer Baden-Württemberg and Fachtierarzt für Pharmakologie und Toxikologie (Qualified Veterinarian for Pharmacology and Toxicology) from Tierärztekammer Baden Württemberg.
