José Vélez

José Vélez is the founder and CEO of Bold, a global fintech company. José has a background in engineering and has held various leadership positions in the payments industry.

José started their career as an engineer at netXtra Ltd in 2001. José then moved on to Pagosonline.net S.A. in 2002, where they eventually became the CEO. In 2013, they joined PayU as the Global Tech & Ops VP. José left PayU in 2018 to start Bold.

José Vélez is a Colombian economist and engineer who graduated from the Universidad de Los Andes with a degree in systems engineering and computing, and later went on to earn a master's degree in economics from the same university.
