Katie Sterk has a diverse work experience. Katie started their career as an Engineering Intern at Rowe Professional Services Company from May 2004 to August 2006. Katie then joined Bolton & Menk, Inc. in June 2007 and worked their way up from an Environmental Design Engineer to become a Project Engineer in the Environmental Division. Their responsibilities included managing municipal water and wastewater projects, providing design services, and overseeing staff. Katie also worked as a Manistee County Parent Liaison for the Wexford-Missaukee-Manistee Counties Great Start Collaborative from January 2017 to August 2017, where they organized and hosted community playgroups. Currently, Katie holds the positions of Principal Environmental Engineer and Environmental Project Manager at Bolton & Menk, Inc., where they continue to manage water and wastewater projects for Iowa municipalities and public utilities.
Katie Sterk obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Katie then pursued a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Environmental Engineering at the same university from 2006 to 2007. In addition to their formal education, Katie Sterk has acquired several Professional Engineer certifications. Katie became a Professional Engineer through the State of Iowa in November 2017, the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs in June 2016, and the Minnesota State Board of AELSLAGID in May 2011.
