Peter Crandall

Senior Urban Designer at Bolton & Menk, Inc.

Peter Crandall has a diverse work experience in the field of urban design and planning. Peter is currently working as a Senior Urban Designer at Bolton & Menk, Inc. since May 2023. Prior to this, Peter worked at the City of Minneapolis from 2014 to 2023, where they held multiple roles including Senior City Planner - Land Use, Design, and Preservation from May 2016 to May 2023, and Urban Designer - Long Range Planning from February 2014 to May 2016. Before their time at the City of Minneapolis, Peter was an Urban Design Research Fellow at the University of Minnesota College of Design from June 2010 to May 2013. Peter worked in a small studio group of designers and researchers to develop master plans, design frameworks, policy proposals, and infrastructure schematics to promote sustainability, equity, and resilience in the Twin Cities region. Peter's career began as an Architectural Designer at Perkins+Will from May 2008 to April 2010.

Peter Crandall attended Macalester College from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Cultural Anthropology & International Studies. In 2006, they enrolled at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation to study Architecture. However, no degree information is available for this period. Peter then moved to the University of Minnesota from 2007 to 2009 and completed a Master of Architecture degree in 2009. Additionally, they obtained the LEED AP BD+C certification from the USGBC Minnesota Chapter in April 2009.
