Nancy L. Gantt, MD FACS has held various roles throughout their career. Nancy L. is currently serving as the First Vice-President Elect for the American College of Surgeons. Nancy L. has been involved with the organization since 2015, serving as a Consultant for the Diversity Pillar of the Board of Governors. In addition, they have served as the Vice Chairman and Quality, Research, and Optimal Patient Care Pillar Lead for the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors.

Nancy L. has also been a Professor of Surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) since 2009 and served as the Interim Chair of Surgery from 2020 to 2021.
Additionally, Dr. Gantt served as the Past-President of the Ohio Chapter American College of Surgeons from 2016.

Nancy L. Gantt, MD FACS obtained their MD degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in the years 1979-1983. Nancy L. completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois/Urbana-Champaign, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from 1975 to 1979. Dr. Gantt also holds additional certifications, including being an Associate Fellow at the American College of Surgeons Academy of Master Surgeon Educators, a Fellow at the Association for Surgical Education Academy of Clerkship Directors, and a Master Teacher at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED).
