Emerson Knapp

Emerson Knapp is a seasoned robotics engineer with extensive experience in software development and engineering across multiple companies. Currently serving as a Staff Robotics Engineer at Bonsai Robotics since August 2023, Emerson previously worked as a Robotics Software Contractor at Foxglove, focusing on integrating MCAP with Rosbag2. Emerson's tenure at Amazon Web Services (AWS) included significant contributions as a Robotics Software Engineer, acting as a ROS 2 open source ambassador and founding the ROS Tooling Working Group. Prior roles at Amazon and dispatch.ai involved developing software for delivery robots, alongside co-founding 43Layers, a marketplace for customized goods. Emerson's early career included several software engineering positions at Autodesk, leading projects like FormIt360 and extending AutoCAD's 3D Point Cloud functionality.
