Rob Whiting has a diverse work experience, starting in 2009 as a Volunteer Consultant at TechnoServe. Rob then held the position of Agribusiness Assistant at USAID in 2010. In the same year, they also worked as a Volunteer Consultant at TechnoServe.
From 2011 to 2014, Rob worked at The Boston Consulting Group, first as an Associate and then as a Consultant.
In 2014, they co-founded Waste Ventures India, a waste management company aimed at reducing waste and improving waste picker livelihoods. Rob held this position until 2016.
Next, Rob worked as the Corporate Strategy & Sales Operations Lead at Rubicon Global from 2016 to 2017.
In 2018, they joined Brookdale as a Business Development Coordinator for a few months.
In 2019, Rob co-founded Haystack Health but left the company in the same year.
From 2017 to 2020, they were self-employed as an Entrepreneur and Freelancer.
Currently, Rob is working as the Co-Founder of Boom, a company focused on building the financial hub for renters in the US, since September 2020.
Rob Whiting began their education at Fernandina Beach High School, where they were the Class Salutatorian. Rob then attended Vanderbilt University from 2005 to 2009, earning a B.A. in Economics and East Asian Studies. In 2007, they also obtained a certificate in Chinese from the Harbin Institute of Technology. After completing their undergraduate studies, Rob became a Fellow at the Vanderbilt Michael B. Keegan Traveling Fellows program in 2009. In terms of additional certifications, they have obtained an Advanced Open Water Diver certification from PADI, although the specific month and year of attainment are unknown.
