Jim Simmons

Jim Simmons has extensive maritime experience, currently serving as a Captain at Bordelon Marine since June 2019. Previously, Jim worked as a Licensed Field Underwriter at Symmetry Financial Group from May 2019 to January 2021, and held dual roles as Captain and Chief Mate with American Cruise Lines from March 2014 to November 2018. Long-term service with the USCGC MACKINAW spanned from July 1981 to January 2013, culminating in the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CWO4), where responsibilities included navigation, communications, and oversight of bridge operations. Jim holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety and Emergency Management from Grand Canyon University, completed between 2010 and 2012, and has also received training at Mid-Atlantic Maritime Academy in 2013.
