Gabriel Oliveira

Gabriel Oliveira is a Machine Learning Research Team Lead at Borealis AI since February 2019, with a progressive career in machine learning research including roles as a Senior and Machine Learning Researcher. Gabriel has a strong academic foundation, holding a PhD in robotics and computer vision from The University of Freiburg (2014-2019) and an MSc in Computer Science focused on computer vision and robotics from the University of Minnesota (2012-2014). Prior to these roles, Gabriel served as a Doctoral Research Assistant at the University of Freiburg and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant across various computer science courses at the University of Minnesota. Early career experience includes a technical software development scholarship at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande and a Master's degree in Robotics and Computer Vision from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2010-2012), along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with a concentration in Robotics from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (2005-2009).
