Hossein Sharifi-Noghabi

Machine Learning Researcher at Borealis AI

Hossein Sharifi-Noghabi is a Machine Learning Researcher at Borealis AI since October 2022. Previously, Sharifi-Noghabi worked at Novartis as an AI For Life Resident, where responsibilities included designing a metric learning model for batch effect correction and developing a conditional denoising auto-encoder for protein data imputation. Experience also includes a role as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Vancouver Prostate Centre, focusing on advanced genome analysis, and serving as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Simon Fraser University. In addition, Sharifi-Noghabi led a project at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre to create guidelines for machine learning applications in pharmacogenomics. An external collaboration with Decipher Biosciences, Inc. involved developing a novel method to predict metastasis in prostate cancer. Educational achievements include a PhD in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University, a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Sadjad University.
