Behavioral Health Director For Addiction Treatment Services, Grayken Center For Addiction at Boston Medical Center

Carla B. M. serves as an Adjunct Professor at Simmons University and holds the position of Behavioral Health Director for Addiction Treatment Services at Boston Medical Center, alongside a managerial role in Clinical Programs and SUDS Workforce Development at the Grayken Center for Addiction. As a Private Social Services Expert for the Committee for Public Counsel Services, Carla provides expert testimony and develops clinical assessments and treatment plans for clients. In addition to lecturing at Harvard Medical School, Carla founded and leads the Cape Verdean Social Workers Association INC, advocating for mental health awareness and substance use disorder support within the Cape Verdean community. Carla's professional affiliations include memberships in various organizations such as NASW-MA, the Greater Boston Association of Black Social Workers, and NAMI Massachusetts. Currently pursuing a PhD in Social Work at Sacred Heart University, Carla's educational background includes a Master of Social Work from Boston College and a Bachelor of Social Work from Bridgewater State University.
