Joseph Nichols has been the Director of Symphony Hall Facilities at the Boston Symphony Orchestra since April 2020. Prior to that, they were the Director of Facilities at TD Garden from October 2019 to April 2020. Joseph has also held the position of Director of Facilities Management at Cambridge Health Alliance from July 2016 to October 2019, and Facilities Maintenance Technician II at Beverly Hospital from January 2005 to July 2016.
Joseph Nichols has a Master's degree in Facilities Managment from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, a Bachelor's degree in Science and Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts from North Shore Community College. Joseph is also certified by ASHRAE in ASHRAE 608 Universal, by the American Hospital Association as a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Hoisting Engineer, and by - in Confined Space Entry and Underground Storage Tank C.
