Jose M. ESCOBAR

Jose M. Escobar has over 25 years of work experience in various roles within the construction and development industry. Jose M. began their career as a Construction Engineer at McDonald's in 1993 before becoming a Director of Construction at Leroy Merlin in 1995. From there, they worked as a Senior Project Manager at Lend Lease from 2000 to 2003. Escobar then took on the role of Development Manager for Shopping Centers at Grupo Lar in 2003, where they successfully launched two shopping center operations. In 2004, they served as the Director of Design and Construction at Aifos Inmuebles SL.

From 2005 to 2008, Escobar worked at Chamartin, first as a Construction Director for Shopping Centers, where they designed and launched construction of two large shopping centers and conducted feasibility studies for several projects. Jose M. was then promoted to Development Director, overseeing Spanish developments and successfully delivering shopping malls on time and within budget.

From 2008 to 2015, Escobar joined Groupe ACCOR, where they held various positions. As Senior Vice-President Construction NCEE, they managed a team of Country Technical Directors and enforced project management procedures. Jose M. also served as Senior Vice-President Design & Technical Services SEMEA, overseeing a team of 12 Country Technical Directors and implementing a corporate online project tracking software. Finally, as Founder of Edifika Consulting in 2015, Escobar started their own consulting company.

Throughout their career, Escobar has demonstrated expertise in project management, design, construction, permits, leasing, marketing, and finance in the development and construction of shopping centers and hotels. Jose M. has also enforced company policies and brand standards, ensuring successful project delivery.

Jose M. Escobar has a diploma in Education with a specialization in Hospitality Asset Management from ESSEC Business School, which they obtained in 2014. Prior to that, they pursued a degree in Architecture and Urban Planning at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
