Allie Appel

Allie Appel currently serves as the Senior Director of Programs and Project-Based Learning at BGCDT, where innovative strategies and partnerships with NASA are utilized to enhance K-12 STEM education. Prior experience includes leading expanded learning opportunities at San Leandro Boys & Girls Clubs and spearheading DEI integration in curricula at Chabot Space & Science Center. Appel's tenure also encompasses curriculum development for KIPP Foundation and KIPP Public Schools Northern California, contributing significantly to science and mathematics education. Recognized for excellence in teaching, Appel has authored impactful physics curricula and led competitive robotics teams, while also engaging in undergraduate research in observational astronomy at Valparaiso University. Appel holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physics and Math and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physics.
