Wilson (Kuan-Wei) Peng

Bioanalytical Senior Scientist at BPGbio

Wilson (Kuan-Wei) Peng has a diverse work experience in the field of bioanalytical studies, biomarker quantification, drug discovery and development, and drug metabolism. Wilson (Kuan-Wei) started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where they investigated metabolites and evaluated the potentials and cytotoxicity of various compounds in breast cancer cells. Wilson (Kuan-Wei) then worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the same university, focusing on drug discovery, development, and metabolism. Following this, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Kansas, where they specialized in LC-MS based quantification of small molecules and drug transporters. Wilson (Kuan-Wei) then moved on to Genentech, where they worked as a Senior Scientific Researcher, developing multiplexed LC-MS assays for biomarkers in neuro, inflammatory, and metabolic disease programs. Finally, they joined Berg, LLC as a Bioanalytical Senior Scientist, where they developed multiplexed LC-MS methods for therapeutical proteins and protein biomarkers, and drafted validation documents and test reports for clinical and pre-clinical studies.

Wilson (Kuan-Wei) Peng obtained their Ph.D in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Illinois Chicago, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. Prior to that, they earned their M.S in Biological Science and Technology from National Chiao Tung University, studying from 1999 to 2001. Wilson (Kuan-Wei) completed their undergraduate studies at Tatung University, where they received a B.S in Bioengineering from 1995 to 1999.

In addition to their formal education, Wilson Peng has obtained several certifications. In 2013, they completed the "Project Management in the Life Science Industries" certification at the University of California, Berkeley. Moreover, they hold a certification as an Emergency Medical Technician level-1 from Armed Forces Tao-Yuan General Hospital in Taiwan, which they obtained in 2002. Furthermore, they acquired the certification of a Patent Engineer from the Institute of Technology Law at National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan, which they obtained in 2001.
