Melissa Hart began their work experience in 2001 as a freelance journalist for various publications including The Washington Post, Nat Geo Kids, and The Writer Magazine. Melissa then worked as a Book Author for Jolly Fish Press, where they published several books on diverse topics. In 2020, Melissa became a Content Writer for Brado, and in 2019, they worked as an Author at Macmillan's First Second Books. Prior to that, they were a Book Author for Sasquatch Books, focusing on promoting empathy and diversity in young readers. Melissa also worked as a Creative Writing Adjunct Faculty at the College of Online and Continuing Education Southern New Hampshire University in 2017. Additionally, they provided Editing & Literary Consultation services through their own company, Creator & Collector Services, starting in 2014. Melissa has authored books for Skyhorse Publishing, Inc and served as a Contributing Editor for The Writer Magazine. Melissa'searliest work experience includes teaching Creative Writing & Literature at Laurel Springs School from 1999 to 2017.
Melissa Hart obtained a Bachelor's degree in Literature and Creative Writing from UC Santa Barbara. Melissa then pursued a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Creative Writing at Goddard College.
