Colleen Hanlon

Dr. Colleen A. Hanlon has served as Vice President of Medical Affairs since 2022.

Dr. Hanlon brings 17 years of clinical research experience in TMS and brain imaging to this position. Before joining BrainsWay, she led multidisciplinary clinical research programs at the Medical University of South Carolina and Wake Forest School of Medicine. During her rapid ascent through the ranks of faculty, she published over 80 articles, authored six book chapters, and delivered over 100 invited talks and educational sessions globally. Recognized as a pioneering leader in the field, Dr. Hanlon received over $12 million in support from the National Institute of Health to develop neural-circuit based therapeutics for patients with a variety of psychiatric and neurologic disorders.

Dr. Hanlon exudes a passion for science and inspiring others to pursue medical discovery and advancement. During her time in academia, she mentored over 60 trainees in the field of brain imaging and TMS research, many of whom have gone on to lead their own laboratories and clinics. Dr. Hanlon is highly regarded as an excellent, enthusiastic teacher, and she looks forward to serving the TMS community in this capacity every day.

In her role as Vice President of Medical Affairs, Dr. Hanlon will look to drive the integration of medical and scientific intelligence to inform TMS providers on state-of-the art developments in the field, guide business decisions, and deliver a transformative approach to patient safety and patient engagement.

Dr. Hanlon received a B.S. from the University of Florida in 2001 and a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Duke University in 2005.
