Harry Xu has a diverse work experience spanning various positions and organizations.

Harry is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at BreezeML, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as a Full Professor starting in June 2022. Harry also held the position of Associate Professor at UCLA from June 2018 to May 2022.

Before joining UCLA, Harry was an Associate Professor at the University of California, Irvine from May 2017 to June 2018. During this time, they also worked as a Visiting Researcher at Microsoft Research from July 2017 to December 2017.

Harry's career started at UC Irvine as an Assistant Professor from July 2011 to May 2017. Prior to that, they pursued their Ph.D. at The Ohio State University from September 2005 to September 2011, focusing on static and dynamic program analysis, compiler and performance optimization, and software engineering.

During their Ph.D., they also worked as a Research Intern at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center from June 2008 to March 2011, where they led the development of two JVM-based projects aimed at detecting runtime bloat in large-scale Java applications. Harry collaborated with Matthew Arnold in the Dynamic Optimization Group and Nick Mitchell and Gary Sevitsky in the Intelligent Application Analysis Group.

Harry started their career as a Staff Software Engineer at IBM China Research/Development Lab from December 2004 to August 2005.

Harry Xu's education history shows a strong focus on computer science. Harry completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science at East China Normal University from 1998 to 2002. Harry then pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science at the same university from 2002 to 2005. Following this, Harry Xu enrolled in The Ohio State University, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from 2005 to 2010. Harry continued at The Ohio State University for their Ph.D., specializing in Computer Science, which they completed from 2005 to 2011.
