Walter Barnes II, Ph.D. has a diverse range of work experience across multiple industries. Beginning their career at Procter & Gamble, they worked as a Process Technology Engineer and later became a Team Manager. Walter then moved on to work at 3M, where they held roles as a Manufacturing Process Engineer, Product Engineer, and Business Planner. At Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, Barnes worked as a Business Consultant for pharmaceutical companies. Following that, they completed a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology in 1997.

In the year 2000, Walter pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance from the University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business. Walter then went on to earn a Doctor of Law (Juris Doctor) degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, School of Law in 2005, with a certificate in Intellectual Property & E-Commerce.

Continuing with their academic pursuits, Walter completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Engineering Management & Systems Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2020.

Throughout their career, Walter has also acquired additional certifications. In 2005, they obtained a Certificate in Intellectual Property & E-Commerce from the University of Missouri, School of Law. Walter also holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Monsanto Company, Corporate Services, which was completed in 2006.
