Kevin Royal

Kevin Royal is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Bridgepoint Education. Kevin has over 25 years of experience in finance and accounting.

Royal began their career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen. Kevin then held various finance positions at Blue Coat Systems, Novellus Systems, and Maxwell Technologies. Kevin was credited with instituting pricing controls that substantially increased gross profit margins from the sale of the company's energy storage and power delivery products while at Maxwell Technologies.

Kevin has also introduced a monthly forecasting process that improved the ability to provide financial guidance to equity analysts and investors. Additionally, they spearheaded the restructuring of internal and external financial reporting processes to capture gains in efficiency and productivity. This led to a reduction in the month-end close cycle from 20 days to 6 days.

At Maxwell Technologies, Kevin Royal also led the investigation and resolution of alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Kevin restructured intellectual property ownership to achieve tax benefits by taking advantage of net operating losses. Kevin also managed the settlement of a shareholder derivative lawsuit.

Kevin Royal has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting from Harding University.
