Venkat Rangamani

Venkat Rangamani has extensive work experience in software engineering and technology leadership roles. Venkat is currently serving as the Vice President of Software Engineering at Bright Horizons since March 2021. Prior to that, Venkat worked as the Vice President of Software Engineering at iPROMOTEu from April 2019 to November 2020, where they led the digital transformation of the software platform and presented the technology vision to the board of directors and customers.

Before iPROMOTEu, Venkat held the position of Director of Software Engineering (e-Commerce) at Staples from 2014 to 2015. Venkat led various cross-functional software initiatives and played a key role in implementing the Buy Online pick up in store (BOPIS) feature for Staples Advantage.

Earlier in their career, Venkat served as the Chief Technology Officer at Micronotes from 2008 to 2014, where they defined and designed transaction targeted marketing systems for financial institutions. Venkat also worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Cisco from 2003 to 2007, where they designed and developed key components for the Cisco Security Agent and led software security initiatives. Prior to that, Venkat was a Senior Software Engineer at Okena Inc, which was later acquired by Cisco, from 2001 to 2003.

Venkat began their career as a Software Engineer at Aditi Technologies in 1999 and later worked as a Software Analyst at Ramco Systems from 1997 to 1999. At Ramco, they designed and developed mission-critical components for the next generation of Ramco Marshal ERP applications and conducted training sessions on evolving Microsoft technologies.

Overall, Venkat Rangamani has gained extensive experience in software engineering, digital transformation, leadership, and product development throughout their career.

Venkat Rangamani obtained an MBA degree from MIT Sloan School of Management in 2008. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Madurai Kamaraj University between 1994 and 1997. Venkat also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Physics from the University of Madras, which they completed from 1991 to 1994. In addition to their formal education, Venkat has obtained certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS) including AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate.
