Steven Kabbes has worked in the software engineering field since 2009. From 2009-2011, they were a Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During this time, they were responsible for holding lab hours, giving mini lectures, proctoring exams, answering questions, and debugging students' code. In 2011, they began working at Hewlett-Packard as a Software Engineer, where they were responsible for prototyping engineering on the webOS ecosystem and taking HP's Netflix from prototype to production on the HP TouchPad. Later that same year, they began working at Mailbox as a Backend Engineer, where they implemented bidirection email sync over IMAP and built sharded realtime infrastructure handling 10's of thousands of messages per second. In 2013, they began working at Dropbox as a Senior Software Engineer. Finally, in 2015, they began working at Bright as a Software Engineer.
Steven Kabbes attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
