Ryan Keisler

Ryan Keisler is a distinguished scientist with extensive experience in data science and applied physics. Currently serving as Cofounder and Chief Scientist at Brightband since May 2024, Ryan previously held the position of Staff Data Scientist at KoBold Metals, where significant contributions included the development of a novel ML-based geophysical simulator for exploration projects. Prior to this, notable achievements at Descartes Labs as Chief Scientist and Head of Applied Science involved leading a team of 30 scientists to integrate physical and statistical modeling across various industries. Ryan's academic background includes a PhD in Physics from the University of Chicago, complemented by dual bachelor's degrees in Physics and Plan II from The University of Texas at Austin. Further academic endeavors include serving as a Kavli Fellow at Stanford University and a NASA Hubble Fellow at The University of Chicago, focusing on projects related to the cosmic microwave background.
